VERSE OF THE
DAY: For God
has imprisoned all in disobedience so that he may be merciful to all. Romans
11:32 NRSV
Why does God allow us to sin?
Why does God allow for wicked, evil things to happen? God has the power to
stop all that, but hasn’t. Why not? According to this verse, God
allows everyone to be the way we are, so that God may be merciful to all of us
through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Furthermore, God continues to be
merciful to us after we accept Christ. Good thing, too, because none of us
are perfect. We all make mistakes. We all sin or “miss the mark” as
that word means. God continues to show us mercy. We may not
abuse this mercy (see Romans 6:1), but thank God that we have
it.
PRAYER: O Merciful God,
I may not understand all your majestic ways, but I give you thanks for the mercy
you have shown me in my life. May I be as merciful to those who have wronged me
and thus show them your merciful way. Amen.
See you in Church
Sunday,
Pastor
Sandy
