SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY: Romans 14:1-12

PSALM OF THE WEEK: Psalm 115

HYMN OF THE DAY: CH#616 “Today I Live” http://www.musiklus.com/anthology-catalog/today-i-live [words only]

VERSE OF THE DAY: If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. Romans 14:8 NRSV

Everything we do as a church and as individuals should be for the glory of the Lord.  We should welcome everyone, even those who are “weak in faith” (or convictions) according to verse 1.  We should not judge another person’s faith or how they choose to live out Romans 12:1-2 (see verse 10).  We don’t have to judge their actions. Instead, we should realize that we have to answer for ourselves (see verse 12). Granted, part of what we have to answer to is that we need to teach others the way to the Lord and how to do right.  Whether they accept him or not, whether they live for him or not, is up to them, not us. When we live our life out for the Lord, then we have no judgment and no fear.  We have no fear of death.  We have no fear of the judgment from God or from others.  For whether we live or die, our salvation is secure in the Lord Jesus Christ and we are free to truly live out that life for him.  That freedom brings the joy of being able to truly live for Christ.

PRAYER: God of Eternal Life; help me not to judge others, but to teach them your ways through my example.  May I truly be a living witness to you, living in Hope, without fear, and with out condemnation. Amen.

See you in Church Sunday,

Pastor Sandy
