SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY: Romans 1:1-7

VERSE OF THE DAY: “And you are also among those who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.” Romans 1:6 NIV

 

The above verse is part of Paul’s introduction lines to the Letter to the Romans.  The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) says Paul was sent “to bring about the obedience of faith among the gentiles for the sake of his name, including yourselves” (Romans 5b-6a). The message is clear.  You are called by Jesus Christ.  This book is for those have been called.  The book of Romans is for you, too.  The rest of this book keeps reminding us of our being called by the Lord Jesus Christ and our responsibility to him to live a life that glorifies him.

 

PRAYER: O God who Called Me, help me live out a life worthy of you. Amen.
