SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY: Romans 1:18-32

PSALM OF THE WEEK: Psalm 14

HYMN OF THE DAY: CH#59 “This Is My Father’s World” http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/t/i/tismyfw.htm

VERSE OF THE DAY: Claiming to be wise, they became fools. Romans 1:22 NRSV

Humans are guilty.  That is Paul’s conclusion in this passage.  We are all guilty.  We think we aren’t.  We pretend we aren’t.  We think we are so smart about everything; we act just like the above verse.  The truth is that we all fall short.  Just like the verse above says, the more we claim otherwise, the more foolish about it we become. God knows that.  We don’t have to pretend around God.  Do we really think we can fool God?  We can’t, but we don’t have to.  God gave us Jesus Christ to take care of the problem.  The problem is solved.  We live through Christ, not through our sinful nature. Verse 21 points out that people who knew God didn’t tank God or worship God and so they became worse.  We don’t want that to happen to us!  We need to thank God for that wonderful gift of forgiveness and live like the wise people we are; for we know that we live eternally through Christ Jesus our Lord.

PRAYER: O Great God; I know I’m not perfect.  I need your Spirit living in my Life. Thank you for everything you have done for me. Amen,

See you in Church Sunday,

Pastor Sandy
