VERSE OF THE DAY: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” Matthew 24:35 NRSV

 

Bibles have been burned; ministers arrested; missionaries kicked out of hostile countries; yet, the words of Jesus continue to be shared in word and in deed.  He will not be stopped!  God’s word is unstoppable.  Sometimes even in our lives and in our culture, it seems that people are against everything that Jesus wants us to do.  Fear not!  God will prevail.  Our job is not to worry about when God will prevail or how God will prevail, but to do our best to live out God’s words in our life.  The Word of God Incarnate will see us through every problem and every situation so that God receives the Glory from it.  The Lord’s promises to us – Life Eternal and the constant abiding presence of his Spirit in our times of need – will never pass away.  We have his word on that, and his words will never pass away.

 

PRAYER: O Eternal Word, grant that I may always feel your Spirit with me even when the ways of the world assail against us.  May I always being a living example of your Word abiding in my life to those who refuse to hear your message or see your ways. Amen.
