SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY: Colossians 1:15-20

PSALM OF THE WEEK: Psalm 18:20-30

HYMN OF THE DAY: CH# 150 “Hark! The Heralds Angels Sing” http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/h/h/a/hhangels.htm

VERSE OF THE DAY: He himself is before all things and in him all things hold together.  Colossians 1:17 NRSV

Have you seen the very powerful video of Louie Giglio explaining laminin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_e4zgJXPpI4)? It last about 9 minutes, and he explains this much better than I ever could.  Basically, he shows the scientific importance of this verse.  Literally, all things hold together in Christ Jesus.  We are finding that out.  Everything, from the smallest sub-atomic particle to the vastness of the universe, and everything in between (including the protein adhesion molecules in your body) was made through Jesus Christ (see verse 16). The more we study God’s creation, the more amazed we become at just how “fitfully and wonderfully made” (see Psalm 139:14) we truly are. What better way to hold your life together, even in those times when it feels like it is totally falling apart, than to be living in the one who literally holds everything together in you?

PRAYER: O God of Creation, you have truly made everything wonderful. Hold me in all that I go through so that I will never stray from the One in whom I live and breathe and hope for all eternity. Amen.

See you in Church Sunday,

Pastor Sandy
