SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY: Colossians 1:21-23

PSALM OF THE WEEK: Psalm 18:20-30

HYMN OF THE DAY: CH# 205 “Behold the Love, the Grace of God” [This is a beautiful poem written by Christian Church founder Barton W. Stone.  There is no good link to it]

VERSE OF THE DAY: But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation. Colossians 1:22 NIV

There are many theories of how we are reconciled to God through the cross.  Some people are so sure of their particular theory that they will even claim those who disagree with their human interpretation aren’t really Christians.  The truth is that this is one of those totally amazing things of God that is far beyond our human understanding.  The important fact is that God did it.  That is truly amazing.  That is truly wonderful for us. Thanks to Christ, we have been made holy, perfect, and free.  We can’t ever be good enough to earn this type of relationship to God, yet God has given it to us as a free gift through our acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. So what are you going do about it?  We are to remain steadfast in our faith and to put it into action with what we do (see verse 23).  That’s it.  Remain steadfast in faith, and put that faith into action with everything you do.

PRAYER: O Reconciling God, I know I do not deserve all that you have given me, so I give you the thanksgiving and praise for it.  Now, help me live out that faith in my life with everything I do.  May it bring glory and honor to you, not me, and be worthy of your gift to me. Amen.

See you in Church Sunday,

Pastor Sandy
