SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY: I Timothy 4:1-10

VERSE OF THE DAY: Everything God created is good. 1 Timothy 4:4a CEV

 

Everything God made is good, so why do we treat God’s creation so badly?  Paul says it’s because in the last days people will turn away from the Spirit of God and follow “deceitful spirits and demons” (see verse 4:1).  Actually, people have been doing this forever and they still are.  When we follow God, we need to realize that God made everything for our benefit, not for us to abuse or mistreat, but for us to enjoy, protect, and wonder about.  From the smallest sub-atomic particle to the vastness of the universe, God said it was good (see Genesis 1).  Let us use it, and live in it, for God’s purposes.

 

PRAYER: O Creator God, what you have created is far beyond our understanding, yet you give us the dominion over it and call us to care for it for you.  May I live my life in a way that does that and brings the glory to you. Amen.
