VERSE OF THE
DAY: Here is
a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the
world to save sinners – of whom I am the very worst. 1 Timothy 1:15
NIV
Jesus Christ came only to save
sinners. I am one. You are too. So is everyone else. How
can we judge anyone for being bad? That is the very person Christ came to
save. How can we feel superior to anyone when they are the one Christ died
for? If we examine ourselves, then we have to agree with Paul who felt he
was “chief among sinners”, for that is true of every one of us and everyone else
too. Therefore, we are not in a position to judge, condemn, or feel
superior to anyone. We must realize that they, like us, need the salvation
of Jesus Christ. We have to reach out to them in Christ’s love. We
have to show them that we understand, and that we have the answer they too are
looking for. Our witness to the world is not that we are somehow better
than others and therefore are saved by God. It is that we have “been
there, done that” and we know for fact that God still loves us enough to save us
and the same is true for everyone else as well.
PRAYER: “King Eternal,
Immortal, Invisible, Only God; thank you for saving me from all I been and all
I’ve done. Help me to show that kind of loving grace to others so that
they too will be drawn to you for that same saving grace.
Amen.
See you in Church
Sunday,
Pastor
Sandy
