VERSE OF THE DAY: He destined us for adoption as his children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace that he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. Ephesians 1:5-6 NRSV

 

You were adopted by God.  An adopted child has all the legal rights and inheritance of a biological child.  The law recognizes no differences in children, whether they joined a family by birth or adoption.  They are all equal.  We are created by God.  God gave his only begotten (or beloved) Son for our salvation (see John 3:16-17) and through that same Beloved, God now adopts us as, not just created subjects, but children just like the only begotten Son.  Good parents love their children in way that is hard to fully describe.  God loves us that much.  Amazing, isn’t it.  We are truly children of God.

 

PRAYER: Abba, Father: Thank you for making me your child too.  May I live a live that shows just how much I love you for that. Amen.
